Center for Orthopaedic Research
The Center for Orthopaedic Research (COR) at UPMC Shadyside Medical Center
is helping to take the hospital's orthopaedic program into the 21st century. COR, in
collaboration with several departments within UPMC Shadyside and in cooperation with
Carnegie Mellon University, has initiated a series of clinical and engineering research
activities. Our goal is to provide better treatment and care to orthopaedic patients
thereby improving their clinical outcomes.
COR compliments the expanding clinical program focusing on applied research and how to
adapt new technology to orthopaedic challenges. The main programs of interest and
activities within COR are: Preoperative Surgical Simulations and Biomechanics, Medical
Robotics and Computer Assisted Surgery (MRCAS), and the Total Joint Registry.
COR currently maintains its own web-site at http://cor.ssh.edu
