A full schedule of activities, including supervised outings, are provided to residents who wish to participate. Activities range from musical entertainment to twice-a-week cocktail parties to occasional Sunday-afternoon outings to the Playhouse. Annual special events include the Victorian Tea (featuring a delicious selection of pastries and teas), the Candlelight Dinner (held in the Solarium Garden on a warm summer evening), Light-Up Night (a festive celebration of the beginning of the holidays and Pittsburghs beautiful downtown "Light Up").
Canterbury Place is a nondenominational community that seeks to provide services to meet the religious needs of its residents through its Pastoral Care Program, which provides regularly scheduled services by various Jewish and Christian clergy. The residents also benefit from our Interfaith Pastoral Care Training Program, which offers practical experience and disciplined reflection for graduate students in theology and social work from local seminaries and universities.
