Kapil Chopra, MD
Medical Director, UPMC Center for Hemochromatosis and Iron Overload Disorders
Dr. Chopra earned a medical degree from Grant Medical College, Bombay, India. He completed a residency at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital in 1998 and a fellowship at UPMC Health System in 2000. Dr. Chopra has co-authored more than 25 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He was appointed to the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2000. Dr. Chopra's clinical interests are transplantation hepatology, hereditary hemochromatosis, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and portal hypertension.
