UPMC Shadyside Family Health Center When you or an adult family member need hospital care, we will admit you to UPMC Shadyside. Your family physician, and any needed specialists, will care for you in the hospital. We refer children who need to be hospitalized and patients with severe emotional problems to the appropriate hospital in Pittsburgh. If you require specialty care, UPMC Shadyside Family Health Center offers on-site care in obstetrics, gynecology, and sports medicine. Your doctor will arrange for a visit with the specialist when needed. The specialists also have a private practice at the Health Center and can see patients who have a family doctor elsewhere.
